Our Students

Sky View students come up for a 90 minute session once a week over the summer. During their time here they usually help with horse chores, groom, learn to tack up their horse and ride.
One of our goals is to teach them the responsibility of horsemanship while they spend time with a mentor. With mentoring being our main focus we do not always ride if we feel like our time would be more effective playing or doing another activity.
Our heart is to mentor children from all walks of life and offer them a refuge and a safe place to come be kids. We welcome all our families free of charge, but it is up to our discretion on which families we take according to their needs.

We do three time sessions a day:
10:00 - 11:30
1:00 - 2:30
2:45 - 4:15

If you are interested in scheduling a child to come for a visit feel free to call us about scheduling.

Parent Testimonies

Like any miracle Sky View has been an amazing gift to our family, but especially to Sarah. We had no idea that the ranch existed until a friend of the family passed along your contact information. In the span of 24 hours from first hearing of your ranch, checking out your website, and then speaking with you on the phone Sarah had her first lesson scheduled. I was apprehensive that this was just going to be another "therapy" that wouldn't work. (We had been through several before this and have always walked away disappointed as it was never the right fit for Sarah's needs.) I couldn't have been more wrong. From the moment Sarah stepped foot onto your ranch she fell in love with not only the ranch, but with you. Going to the ranch is her most favorite part of the week because she gets to spend time being with horses, you, and your staff. Your entire team (both staff and volunteers) are incredibly warm and welcoming. Everyone I have come across is genuine in their desire to help not only Sarah, but her sister and myself as well. When she is at the ranch Sarah does not feel like an outsider with everyone staring at her like she does when she is out in public. Instead, the ranch is the one place where she feels "normal". This is invaluable gift. Through her weekly lessons Sarah is learning to be independent which is something that she has struggled with over the years as she has lost her vision. I am beginning to see a little bit of the girl I knew before Sarah's disease took hold of her body - the confident, carefree, outgoing girl that she once was (and still is somewhere hidden deep inside of her). She dreams of one day owning her own farm that she would turn into a sanctuary with horses and other rescued animals along with a huge vegetable garden. You, Hannah, are helping her to see that this dream CAN be a reality. You are helping to instill in Sarah the quiet confidence that will last a lifetime, and will enable her to accomplish her dreams. What you (and your staff & volunteers) have done for Sarah (and our family) is a gift that can never be repaid. Her life will forever be changed because of her time spent on the ranch. It will be remembered as one of the most favorite times in her life, and I have no doubt it will sustain her through some of the hardships life will throw at her in the future to come. Thank you. Elicia
