I came to Sky View in 2011 before it started, ready to change the world with my machete. When I first came, I enjoyed helping them work toward their vision by clearing, cutting and chopping. As a kid I enjoyed the work, and as I have gotten older I have grown to appreciate the ministry and heart behind the vision more and more. Over the years as I have worked, Sky View has helped me grow by giving me a place that I can grow in my faith, continue to hear God’s voice and be the hands and feet of Jesus while working with kids.
Sky View also became a refuge for me when I was 14 and my dad walked out of my life. Through the whole mess he left behind, Sky View was a safe place that I could come to. That is my heart behind working with the kids I work with. I want to show them the same refuge that I found through my Savior and also through being at Sky View.
I am looking forward to seeing how God works this summer in providing for our needs and getting to see kids grow closer to God! I am excited to get to be involved in Sky View and their heart to be a refuge and safe place for the kids we work with to come to. I am excited to help my students grow in their confidence and abilities and also to help our volunteers grow in their ability and desire to work!
Things I like
I like the outdoors, camping, and adventure. I like to create and build things. Taking an idea and making it happen brings me joy. I like the change of the seasons, the rain and hanging out with good friends. I like getting to see God work in people’s lives and I like helping people’s dreams become reality. I like watching the sunset listening to the quiet of the forest, swimming and eating pizza and garlic. And I like driving my motorcycle.
